So... It's been a while...

I have tried several times to become a blogger and have found that I am just not very good at it. Starting now, I am going to try my very best to update this blog at least once a week... even if it's just to share a passage of Scripture. Hopefully, though, this will be a good place to see pictures and to hear thoughts on what we've recently experienced as a youth group! So, here are some pictures from the last couple of years that I know I should have posted a LONG time ago!

Centrifuge 2010

Wow! Time flies by when you’re having fun! Our week at Centrifuge was AMAZING! God did an awesome work in the lives of our leaders and young people. We learned how to identify our “defining moments” as we live lives that radiate LOVE, OBEDIENCE, SACRIFICE, INTEGRITY, and COMMITMENT! We were especially challenged on Wednesday night when the speaker, David Edwards, called us to find where we are in our relationship with God. Are we at the point of Rescue, Release, Requirement, Refusal, or Renewal? Also, on Friday night, our worship leader, Todd Agnew, asked us to worship in the opposite way than we habitually worship. If you stand, sit; if you are loud, be quiet; if you raise your hands, leave them down, and vice-versa. While it was difficult and at some points uncomfortable, it really showed us that God can be worshiped regardless of your position and style when you are genuinely worshiping Him from your HEART!

I look forward to the things God is going to do at the Student Life camp in the middle of this month! I feel like He’s already unifying our group. Please continue to pray that we will act as one body as we serve and worship God together!

We had a great weekend at Camp Willow Run studying through the Letter of James. Here are a few pics that recap the weekend.

Youth Fest

We took the youth to an all day Youth Fest a couple of weeks back. We had all intentions of getting there at noon and staying until things wrapped up, which was supposed to be 7 p.m. We were there for about an hour when it started pouring...really pouring! We waited in the van for an hour or so, the rain wasn't letting up. The youth decided they wanted to go eat at the mall instead of waiting for the rain to stop. This was probably a good choice because it rained off and on all day long! We did get a couple of pictures before the rains came!

The Faircloths are always so generous to let us use their pool. They hosted our end of summer pool party for the youth. We had a great time playing games, swimming and of course eating! Thanks John and Valerie for making your home open and available to us!
