This is just a quick Wednesday update. We have had a great but long day. This morning we served at the local school and made their entrance look amazing (cutting grass, planting flowers, etc.). We then ate lunch at a local park called "Purgatory Chasm." Then we headed back to the church to promote, set up and run the "Block Party." We didn't finish and get back to our lodge until 10:30pm. Well, I'll post more pictures tomorrow but below is a short video clip from the "Block Party."

Mission Trip - Tuesday
Today was another great day in Worcester, Ma. We were able to finish painting the dining room and kitchen at the church. We then went to a local school and cut some grass and picked up trash around their campus. We will be returning back their tomorrow to do some more work. We want show them the love of Christ in a practical way. After working at the school, we prepared for their Tuesday night Bible Study (Praise and Worship, "Slow Fade" skit, Children's Bible Study, Nursery, and Preaching). Continue to pray for our witness at the school where we will be serving at again tomorrow. Also, our big "Block Party" is tomorrow night and we will be giving away over 700 hotdogs along with balloon animals, drinks, and doing face painting. It will be a great opportunity to meet people in the community and share our faith with them. All of the students are doing a great job and everyone is staying healthy.

Mission Trip - Monday
We were able to accomplish a number of tasks today. We sorted and folded clothes for the Baby Boutique, we started the process of painting their dining room and kitchen, we made balloon animals for kids in the park and promoted the "Block Party" that we are throwing on Wednesday night. God has kept us all healthy and safe. We carried on many conversations with people in the park today and hopefully many will come to the "Block Party" on Wednesday night. Here are a few prayer requests: Tuesday night activities (Bible Study and Children in Action), Wednesday night Block Party, and boldness for our students in sharing their faith.

Mission Trip - Sunday
We had a great day today. This morning we were involved in a number of ways at Pleasant Street Baptist Church. Sam Stuart led in prayer, Christian Brown shared his testimony, a number of the students participated in a drama (Set Me Free by Casting Crowns), Jon Chasteen preached, and a number of students helped out in the nursery and with Children's Church. After church we went to Moe's and then passed out Bibles, tracts, balloon animals, and picked up trash at a local event in the community. We met a many people and were able to show the love of Christ in a practical way. Continue to pray for us as we will be serving those in the Baby Boutique and Food Pantry tomorrow. Our theme for the week comes from a quote by the Fathero of Modern Missions, William Carey: "Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God."

We Made It!
We finally pulled out from Gorman Saturday morning around 6:25am and we just arrived at the Rice Lodge a few hours ago around 9:15pm. The traffic wasn't too bad - it's just a long ways up here. Everyone had great attitudes and we are so glad to be here. Pray for us tomorrow (Sunday) as we will be serving in many areas at Pleasant Street Baptist Church (skit, praying, testimony, preaching, children's Bible study, nursery, etc.). Here are a few snapshots of our day.

New Student Ministry Blog
With the mission trip quickly approaching, I decided to create a blog to keep everyone up to date on what's going on. I will be updating this blog with information about the trip. Once we leave, this blog will be updated at least once daily with pictures and videos of what we have been doing. This will also be a place that you can find current up-to-date prayer requests concerning our trip. Make sure you check out the links to the right for 1) Rice Lodge - where we are staying and 2) Pleasant Street Baptist Church - the church we are working with.
